I Need to Get Healthy!

It seems like it was just yesterday that we were shoveling heavy piles of snow from our walks, and now the heat is upon us!  Out come the shorts, skirts and swimsuits and you may be thinking: I still feel so blah from winter.  I need to get healthy for summer!

But how?  You may be surprised to learn that one of the best ways to do so is right here in Belle Creek.
Right in the middle of our neighborhood is none other than Bella Yoga.  (9459 Longs Peak Drive, Suite 126, next to Haraf Foods Market).  I stopped in there to speak with Michelle Klabon, owner and instructor, about why one should try yoga.  “Yoga is for everyone and anyone of any age, race or gender!”

The Journey Toward Yoga Starts with Baby Steps

Michelle’s own journey began in 2001, when she was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis.  After extensive research, Michelle decided to try yoga.  One class was all it took to get her hooked!

Once her practice became more consistent, Michelle noticed a significant change in her health.  “After becoming consistent with your practice you will notice change not only physically, but mentally and spiritually as well,” says the lithe instructor.  She now practices yoga 6 days a week and is stronger and healthier than she has ever been.  “Allowing yoga to become a part of your everyday is the key.  But start with baby steps.  Maybe practice yoga once a week at Bella Yoga in conjunction with breathing and stretching at home for 10 minutes daily.  Then build from there.”  This is how she got started.  “Remember to always listen to your body and that each day will be a little different.”

Michelle is certified through Yoga Alliance, after an intensive 14-week, 200 hour instructor training, enhanced by required continuing education courses.

Michelle’s teaching centers on the traditional Vinyasa Yoga- meaning “flowing with the breath”.
Bella Yoga offers a variety of classes for all levels of experience, whether it is your first time or if you have been practicing for many years.

Michelle’s diagnosis with RA at a fairly early age led her to yoga because she didn’t want to be dependent on medication for the rest of her life.  “I wanted to find a more natural method of healing.  Yoga is is a natural medication without the actual use of prescription medication.  I have not taken any prescription medication in years,” says Michelle.  “Yoga renews the entire body from the inside out, working every single muscle and gland.”

Yoga is twice as fun with a friend!

The Birth of Bella Yoga

After over a year of teaching at the City of Commerce City, City of Northglenn and 24 Hour Fitness, Michelle jumped at the chance to open a studio in her own neighborhood of Belle Creek.  Bella Yoga opened its doors on October 1 of 2010.

Michelle’s favorite part of living and working in Belle Creek is that she is able to make a positive impact on her community.  “I have always wanted to have a positive contribution to society and that’s what I get to do every day.”

Bella Yoga is offering a $99 unlimited summer pass, to get you started on your yoga practice.

“The idea is to become consistent with your practice.  This way it becomes a habit and you will really start to notice change.”
